V27-279 : DEVELOPMENT SCHEME IN SOUTH LOWESTOFT

The report of the Chief Executive reminded members of the recent announcement of a major development project where the Council would be a supportive partner, and which would provide a substantial contribution towards the cost of the Lowestoft Southern Relief Road.

It was necessary, as part of the exercise, to audit the figures provided by the developer to justify the contribution and the Chief Executive had discussed how this might by achieved with the consultants appointed by the County Council to consider the economic impacts of the Southern Relief Road. This work could be undertaken for the sum of £2,000 and would enable the Council to be satisfied that what was offered by the developer was a reasonable figure which could be justified by the development

RESOLVED

That the Chief Executive be authorised to commission such research as is necessary to audit the development of sites in South Lowestoft to establish an appropriate contribution to the Lowestoft Southern Relief Road at a cost of £2,000, to be met from the Employment Regeneration Fund.
