V27-261 : BEACH CHALETS AND OTHER FACILITIES

The report of the Director of Community Services suggested arrangements to enable people to hold New Millennium celebrations on the District's beaches.

RECOMMENDED

1. That the Community Services Committee be recommended to allow an additional opening period of 24 December 1999 to 2 January 2000 for Lowestoft beach chalets, at an inclusive charge of £50 per chalet for the period, and to allow parties on Lowestoft's beaches on 31 December 1999, subject to conditions and in designated areas, at a charge of £20.

2. That the Director of Community Services be given delegated authority, in consultation with the Chairman of the Community Services Committee, to authorise other changes in services related to Millennium events, on a cost recovery basis.
