V27-258 : OTHER GRANT INFORMATION

The report of the Director of Community Services outlined a proposal to temporarily extended the eligibility and criteria rules for Leisure Revenue Grants to enable administration of the Beacon Millennium, and Millennium Award for All match funding requests.

It was also advised that a 5B grant application was being submitted for European funding towards the two primary Millennium events.

RECOMMENDED

1. That a bid for European funding of Millennium event projects be submitted.

2. That the Community Services Committee be recommended to extend the eligibility criteria for Leisure Revenue grants for the period May 1999 to January 2001 to Beacon Millennium and other Millennium activities that meet Lottery criteria and aims.
