V27-256 : MILLENNIUM GRANTS AWARD
The report of the Director of Community Services announced the award of grants from the Millennium Commission towards New Millennium events.
Council organised events had received a £36,000 grant offer, subject to discussions on details and required adjustments and alterations. The Lowestoft Carnival Committee had received a grant of £25,000 towards the `Millennium Carnival of Light' in the Summer of 2000.
RECOMMENDED
That the action of the Director of Community Services, in consultation with the Chairman, in accepting the offer of a grant of £36,000 from the Millennium Commission, be confirmed, and that officers negotiate the detailed conditions of the grant.
