V27-243 : OFFSHORE INDUSTRY

The report of the Chief Executive examined the importance of the offshore sector to the regional and local economy, and identified the pressures the industry was under to boost competitiveness and cut operating costs.

It also outlined the measures that were being pursued nationally, regionally and locally to support the industry, and considered a request from Norfolk County Council for a contribution towards a study of the importance of the industry sub-regionally.

RECOMMENDED

That the Council offers up to £3,000 in sponsorship towards the Offshore Sector study being commissioned by Norfolk County Council, to be met from within the Initiatives and Promotions budget.
