V27-232 : HOUSING BENEFIT INVESTIGATIONS - FUTURE PLANS

The report of the Chief Internal Auditor set out the projected and past net income achieved from Housing Benefit Investigations. It examined current staffing levels and proposed future staffing levels with the aim of providing stability for the section.

RECOMMENDED

That the following changes in staffing within Housing Benefits Investigations be recommended to the Personnel Sub-Committee:

(a) that Post FA509 be made permanent;

(b) that the temporary increase in hours of 12 hours per week for Post FA305 be extended to 31 March 2001;

(c) that the hours of Post FA512 be reduced to 22.2 per week and the post be extended to 31 March 2001;

(d) that investigations be made with the IT Division of the prospect of additional IT support to identify likely fraud cases.
