V27-212 : PENSION MATTERS
The report of the Director of Central Services updated members on a number of issues concerning administration of the Pension Fund. It set out details of the final report of the actuaries on the position of the fund as at 31 March 1998 and the effect on Waveney. There were a number of further discretions open to the Council following the publication of new Regulations, but it was proposed that no action be taken on these discretions at present. RECOMMENDED
1. That the report of the Director of Central Services concerning pension matters be received.
2. That the Council do not exercise the discretions made possible by the Local Government (Discretionary Payments) (Amendment) Regulations 1999.
3. That all discretions under the various Regulations controlling pensions be revised on the introduction of the new pay structure unless further Regulations make it necessary to give the matter earlier consideration.
