V27-20 : TWINNING OF LOWESTOFT WITH PLAISIR
TWENTIETH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS
The verbal report of the Chief Executive was considered as a matter of urgency, under the statutory provision accorded to the Chairman, as approval was required before the next meeting of the Trustees.
The Chief Executive advised that an invitation which had been received for the Chairman of the Council and his spouse, the Chairman of the Charter Trustees, the Leader of the Council, the Chief Executive and an opposition representative to attend the celebrations of the 20th Anniversary of the twinning of Plaisir with Lowestoft, on 4-6 June 1999, as guests of the Plaisir Council.
The only expense to be incurred would be travelling expenses, and the Trustees were asked to cover the travelling expenses of Councillor Rodgers, Councillor Bostock, Councillor Young and the Chief Executive to attend the celebrations, plus the cost of a small gift, which it was customary to present when visiting the twinned town. The travelling expenses of the Chairman of the Council and spouse would be a matter for the Policy and Resources Committee.
RESOLVED
That the travelling expenses of Councillors Bostock, Rodgers and Young and the Chief Executive, on the occasion of their visit to the 20th Anniversary Celebrations of the Twinning of Plaisir with Lowestoft on 4-6 June 1999, plus the cost of a small gift to the town of Plaisir, be met by the Lowestoft Charter Trustees.
The meeting was concluded at 6.50pm.
