Application for single storey rear extension.

The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control advised that the above proposed extension was on the rear of one half of a pair of semi-detached bungalows. The extension was not visible from the street, and the design was acceptable.

The neighbour was concerned about overlooking from a window in the flank wall, and by loss of light and view. The effect on the light and view from the neighbour's windows was not considered to be significant, and increasing the height of the boundary fence to two metres, which had been agreed by the applicant, would remove any overlooking concerns. The Director recommended approval.

RESOLVED

That planning permission be granted to application W17265, subject to an increase in the height of the boundary fence to two metres.
