V27-182 : W10522/5 AND /6 - BUILDINGS REAR OF 69 HIGH STREET, SOUTHWOLD
Application for change of use from commercial to residential use, and listed building consent for change of use from commercial to residential use.
The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control outlined a proposal to convert a range of outbuildings within the curtilage of the above Grade II listed building into living accommodation. The building abutted the Conservative Club on its eastern flank, and also shared an access to the club at the rear of the site. Access to the site was a right of way shared by the Conservative Club and a small number of other properties, but was not a public vehicular right of way.
The only area of concern was the potential conflict between the residential and social club uses. The Director recommended approval, subject to an improved method of soundproofing above that required by Building Regulations and removal of permitted development rights.
RESOLVED
That planning permission and listed building consent be granted to applications W10522/5 and W10522/6 respectively, subject to removal of permitted development rights and additional soundproofing to party wall.
