Application for use of land for base for courier business and residential.

The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control advised that the above use as operated in the past had resulted in vehicles parking on the highway and verge, causing a traffic danger. Councillor Keable advised that he had visited the site.

The applicant had expressed an intention to scale down his operation to reduce the number of vehicles parked. The Director considered that a temporary permission would be appropriate, subject to receiving detailed drawings showing how the site could accommodate a turning area/car park, and conditions restricting the use.

RESOLVED

That planning permission be granted to application W12864/3, temporary for 12 months, subject to conditions requiring the construction and continuing availability of a car park and turning area, and no more than two light commercial vehicles to be parked on the site at any one time.
