V27-1535 : W9184/6 - SOTTERLEY END FARM, HENSTEAD
Application for construction of an agricultural barn and provision of hardstanding. The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control detailed that on a site designated as agricultural land, one-third was now covered by a hardstanding area. The yield of hay from the field for which the 25 by 10 metre agricultural barn applied for stacked two metres high could only ever occupy 280 cubic metres, around half the barn. During a site visit planning officers observed that engineering equipment and other materials associated with the civil engineering business were being kept on the hardstanding. The application would therefore appear to conflict with policies V8 and V10 of the adopted Waveney Local Plan, and the Director therefore recommended refusal and enforcement. RESOLVED
That planning permission be refused to application W9184/6 and the Chief Executive be authorised to instigate Enforcement Action to ensure the hardstanding area be returned to its former agricultural status.
