V27-1499 : MILLENNIUM FESTIVAL - EXTENDED LICENSING HOURS PROPOSAL

The report of the Chief Executive concerned the Millennium Festival, which was involved with the organisation and promotion of national and local events throughout the year 2000.

The Millennium Festival hoped that local authorities would support the celebrations by looking favourably on applications for extension of Public Entertainment Licences. They also hoped to establish a "Festival Hour", which would encourage an extension to pub opening hours of one hour during the Summer period, from 25 May - 28 August 2000.

RESOLVED

That applications received to extend the hours of Public Entertainment Licences to celebrate the Millennium during the period 25 May - 28 August 2000 be looked upon favourably, subject to no past history of poor management and noise disturbance.
