V27-1496 : PUBLIC ENTERTAINMENT LICENSING - VARIATION OF HOURS TO 2.00am FINISH
The report of the Chief Executive detailed those premises that had applied to extend their Public Entertainment Licence finishing times from 1.00am to 2.00am. This followed the Panel's previous decision to look at extending the hours of Public Entertainment Licences for certain premises within the District. The report also set out the Suffolk Constabulary's support for the extensions on trial periods only, and one objection to an extension. RESOLVED
1. That Tiffins Nightspot be granted a variation to their Annual Public Entertainment on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights to 2.00am, to commence on 1 April 2000, the Licence to be reviewed by 28 February 2001 when all Annual Public Entertainment Licences expire.
2. That The Edge Bar and Blue Notes 2, Claremont Pier be granted a variation to their Annual Public Entertainment Licence on Friday and Saturday nights to 2.00am, to commence on 1 April 2000, the Licence to be reviewed by 28 February 2001 when all Annual Public Entertainment Licences expire, and that all other requests on the variation application be refused.
3. That Barts Bar, Broadlands Hotel, Oulton Broad, be refused a variation to their Annual Public Entertainment Licence on Friday and Saturday nights to 2.00am on the grounds that the general Oulton Broad area has a high density of residential property, and if approved there would be a loss of residential amenity.
4. That the Arena/Hanks Bar be granted a variation to the Annual Public Entertainment Licence on Friday and Saturday nights to 2.00am, to commence on 1 April 2000, the Licence to be reviewed by 30 September 2000 to establish any further noise complaints, and to enter into discussions with the proprietor to try and establish ways of solving the problem.
