PUBLIC ENTERTAINMENT LICENCE NO. 301 - VARIATION OF HOURS

The report of the Chief Executive set out an application from the Director of Community Services to vary the hours of the above Public Entertainment Licence on Saturdays from 12 midnight to 1.00am. No objections had been received.

Members expressed concern that this would be a significant change to the licensing hours of the Rifle Hall, and therefore felt that an occasional licence should be issued for two events. If after these two events no objections had been received from residents, then consideration would be given to the permanent extension requested.

RESOLVED

1. That approval be given to vary the hours of the Public Entertainment Licence for the Rifle Hall, Halesworth, on 5 February 2000 and 4 March 2000 from 12 midnight to 1.00am.

2. That the application to permanently vary the hours of the Public Entertainment Licence of The Rifle Hall, Halesworth on Saturday nights from 12 midnight to 1.00am be deferred and reconsidered after the impact of the events to be held on 5 February and 4 March 2000 has been assessed and reported back to the Panel.
