V27-148 : ASSOCIATION OF CONTRACT SERVICES CHIEF OFFICERS

The report of the Director of Waveney Contract Services informed members that the Director had recently been elected as second National Vice Chairman of the Association of Contract Services Chief Officers (ACSCO). The Director accepted the position subject to this Committee's approval. As second Vice Chairman the Director would be required to represent the Association at some national events and also to consult with national bodies on behalf of the Association. Subject to any unforeseen circumstances the Director would become National Chairman in 2001/2002 which would involve increased time at national meetings etc.

The expenses involved in representing ACSCO would be reimbursed but the time was expected to be provided by the Authority. The Director would need to ensure that his Waveney based activities did not suffer as a result. The Council would benefit from the increased profile and publicity it received.

RESOLVED

That the election of the Director of Waveney Contract Services as second Vice Chairman of the Association of Contract Services Chief Officers and eventually as National Chairman be supported.
