V27-1460 : NEW POLITICAL MANAGEMENT STRUCTURES

The report of the Chief Executive provided the paper "Making Local Government Work" which proposed the framework for the development of the Council's new political structure.

A further report setting out full working details of the structure would be submitted to the Annual Meeting of the Council for consideration.

It was also proposed to set up a Member Officer Steering Group to lead the change process with help from various other Groups. A chart had been produced which showed the arrangement of groups, their membership, purpose and reporting lines.

RESOLVED

1. That the paper "Making Local Government Work" be adopted as the outline for further development of the Council's new political structure.

2. That a Member/Officer Steering Group comprising Councillors Austin, Holzer, Kelly, Thomson and Young and Directors of Central Services, Community Services and Contract Services be established to steer the detailed work.

3. That the other groups shown in the change process chart be commissioned.
