V27-1449 : CORPORATE PUBLICITY TRAILER

The report of the Chief Executive was considered as a matter of urgency, under the statutory provision accorded to the Chairman, as the Council's corporate publicity trailer was presently out of action.

The report recommended that the Council's solicitor be instructed to instigate legal proceedings against the manufacturer and/or converted of the trailer for recovery of the cost of purchasing a replacement trailer. This followed a specialist engineer's report that the trailer was unsafe for towing on the public highway and did not conform with current regulations.

RESOLVED

1. That legal proceedings be instigated against the manufacturer and/or converter of the Council's Corporate Publicity Trailer for the cost of purchasing a replacement trailer.

2. That no further action be taken in respect of a replacement trailer pending the outcome of legal proceedings.
