NEW CORE CRITERIA AND LOCAL DELIVERY PLANS

The report of the Chief Executive identified the emerging EU policy broadening the core criteria, the need to create and implement Local Delivery Plans, and a possible requirement to maintain a `flat spend' profile for the new Objective 2 programme.

It also highlighted the major potential impact these emerging issues could have on the Council's current management resources and the action the District would need to consider in setting up and delivering a more decentralised and devolved funding programme.

RECOMMENDED

That the implications of the new European Objective 2 Programme be considered in the Council's restructuring process.
