V27-1408 : HALESWORTH TOURISM TRAIL - ACQUISITION OF LAND

The report of the Chief Executive sought approval for the acquisition of privately owned land at the junction of The Thoroughfare and Angel Link, Halesworth to form part of the Halesworth Tourism Trail.

On completion as a landscaped seating area, the land would be transferred to Halesworth Town Council who would then be responsible for future maintenance.

RECOMMENDED

1. That the Council acquires the land situated at the junction of The Thoroughfare and Angel Link, Halesworth for £2,000 plus legal costs of £375 and VAT, for inclusion in the Halesworth Tourism Trail, to be met from the Objective 5b funding allocation.

2. That on completion the land be transferred to Halesworth Town Council at nil value, on condition that the Town Council accept responsibility for future maintenance and it remains part of the Halesworth Tourism Trail.
