V27-1407 : HOUSING BENEFIT MERGER

The report of the Director of Central Services identified the current backlog of work, lack of progress in the recovery of overpayments and the need to establish the effect of the processing delays on subsidy. It also set out what was being done to rectify the problems and establish a stable and normal service from April 2000.
RECOMMENDED

1. That the report on the Housing Benefit merger be received and the Section be informed of the Sub-Committee's recognition of the situation and their sympathy and support.

2. That a further report be submitted as and when the outstanding Housing Benefit merger issues are resolved.
