V27-1372 : W8067/9 - 83-89 FAIR CLOSE, BECCLES

Application for construction of 13 elderly persons residential units with associated car parking.

The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control reminded members that the above application had been refused at minute V27-1085 for reasons of little consideration to disabled access, unimaginative layout and an overly dense scheme. The application had since been redesigned, and it had only taken reduction by one dwelling to provide a pleasing scheme with better internal layouts which were fully wheelchair accessible. The scheme met minimum parking standards, and the Director recommended approval subject to no sustainable objections being received, and a minimum age of occupants of 55.

RESOLVED

That the Director of Planning and Building Control be given delegated authority to grant planning permission to application W8067/9, subject to no sustainable objections of substance emerging before the expiration of the consultation period, and an occupancy restriction of a minimum age of 55.
