Application for provision of dormer windows and new oriel window.

The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control advised that the above scheme had been modified since the agenda was printed and the proposal now involved creating a room in the hipped roof, but with the deletion of the dormer window facing the seafront and reduction in size of the remaining two. The Director now recommended approval subject to this deletion.

Members saw no merit in putting dormer windows in a property which was already larger than those surrounding it. The dormers would make the property appear out of proportion with its surroundings, and they were minded to refuse the application.

RESOLVED

That planning permission be refused to application W13355/3.
