Application for Change of Use to provide a permanent kart circuit and associated facilities.

The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control reminded members of the full planning history of this site. The applicant had now agreed to bunding around the entire track, and as he had been unable to purchase any land on the south-eastern boundary from the neighbouring farmer, the bunding would now be entirely on the application site, resulting in a smaller track. With this, the Director could now recommend approval.

Members felt that for the venture to succeed, additional evening operation should be permitted, certainly in the summer months. The Director confirmed that it was four stroke carts that would be in operation.

RESOLVED

1. That planning permission be granted to application W3299/14, subject to the base width of the bunding being seven metres.

2. That the operating hours be set at 9.30 am to 6.00 pm Monday to Saturday and 10.00 am to 2.00 pm on Sundays, with an extension to 8.00 pm Monday to Saturday from Good Friday to 30 September annually.
