Application for single storey rear extension.
The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control concerned an application to erect a rear extension incorporating a kitchen, dining and lounge area with a playroom in the roof space above the extension. The property was a modern semi-detached property and the extension would have minimal impact on the neighbour to the east, which had a rear extension and was separated by a driveway. The extension would, however, have an impact in terms of loss of light and outlook on the neighbour to the west, although no objection had been received.
The extension in its original form was considered contrary to Policy H18, and would benefit from a reduction in size to incorporate a hipped roof in keeping with the neighbour. Revised plans had been received reducing the height and incorporating a hipped roof which would only affect one bedroom window of the neighbour. On balance the Director now felt the application could be approved.
RESOLVED
That planning permission be granted to application W17361.
