V27-1316 : W16282/2 - BECCLES INSTITUTE BOWLS CLUB, FAIR CLOSE, BECCLES
Application for provision of new toilet block.
The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control outlined the above re- submission of an application for the provision of toilet facilities. The previous application for a salvaged portacabin to be erected on site for this purpose had been refused at the August 1999 meeting of the Committee on grounds of visual amenity.
The current application was for the construction of a small, purpose-built toilet block which would be clad with dark-stained ship-lap board and have a mono-pitched bitumen felted roof, similar in style and appearance to the existing club house. The proposal was acceptable in principle, but the submitted plans were not of a sufficiently professional standard to provide a basis on which approval could be given with any confidence in the quality of the outcome, nor did the layout meet the requirements for disabled access. The Director also felt the design would benefit from a pitched roof with a suitable covering. The Director had asked for revised drawings of an adequate standard showing satisfactory details of layout and design, and requested authority to approve a satisfactory amended design.
RESOLVED
That the Director of Planning and Building Control be given delegated authority to grant planning permission to an amended application W16282/2 incorporating a pitched roof with a suitable covering, subject to revised drawings being of an adequate standard.
