Application for change of use of garage to form residential annexe.

The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control concerned an application for change of use of the above existing double garage, currently used as a store/workshop, into a residential annexe for use by visitors. The submitted plan showed living accommodation on the ground floor with a staircase to one or two bedrooms in the roof space. The Director considered this excessive for a domestic annexe, and was not convinced the layout would comply with the requirements for disabled access. A revised scheme with all the accommodation on the ground floor and solely storage space in the roof might be more acceptable, but the Director recommended refusal of the application.

RESOLVED

That planning permission be refused to application W6203/3.
