V27-1302 : W13729/8 - PLOT 33, WOODFIELD PARK, ELLOUGH ROAD, WORLINGHAM
Application to allow construction of a bungalow with garage instead of shop, removal of condition No. 22 of W13729/6.
The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control advised that the above site fell within the last phase of residential development known as Woodfield Park. The planning permission granted in 1993 included a condition ring fencing the above plot for a small retail outlet. However, advertisement of the plot weekly for three months in the local press had met with no success.
As the market had been fully tested by means of advertising without a positive response from the retail trade, refusal of the application would be difficult to justify. The design of the proposed bungalow was satisfactory, and whilst regretting that a retail operator could not be found, the Director recommended approval subject to appropriate conditions. RESOLVED
That planning permission be granted to application W13729/8, subject to appropriate conditions.
