V27-1299 : W16439/2 - GRANGE FARM, TINKERS LANE, HENSTEAD

Application for change of use to tack shop.

The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control outlined an application to convert a barn, which was part of a group of agricultural buildings on the south side of Tinkers Lane associated with Grange farm, to use as a tack shop selling and repairing saddlery and other equestrian goods. An objection had been received concerning increased traffic and parking problems, disposal of effluent and waste and noise.

A parking area for up to nine cars would be provided opposite the barn. Screening would reduce any visual impact on the open countryside, and no significant increase in the number of vehicles using Tinkers Lane was anticipated. The proposed change of use was an appropriate one for an agricultural building of this nature, and subject to adequate screening of the parking area, permission for this use only and provision of a satisfactory means of disposal of foul and waste water the Director recommended approval.

RESOLVED

That planning permission be granted to application W16439/2, subject to permission being for this use only, adequate screening of the parking area and provision of a satisfactory means of disposal of foul and waste water.
