V27-1255 : PUBLIC ENTERTAINMENT LICENCES (DRUGS MISUSE) ACT 1997

The report of the Chief Executive enclosed a copy of the Council's draft Drugs Misuse Policy which had been written following consultation with professional organisations in relation to drugs action within Waveney, in order to comply with the above legislation.

Members were asked to approve the draft for circulation to appropriate Public Entertainment Licence holders to establish their views on the document. Once consultations were complete the document would be returned to the Panel.

RESOLVED

1. That the Drugs Misuse policy document be agreed in principle, and be dispatched to appropriate Public Entertainment Licence holders for consultation.

2. That, once consultations have been completed, the document be returned for the Panel to consider agreeing appropriate conditions to be attached to Public Entertainment Licences.

3. That the Chairman be authorised to attend the Inter-Agency Meeting on 14 March 2000 for discussions on the Public Entertainment Licences (Drugs Misuse) Act 1997, and that attendance be authorised as an approved duty.
