V27-1231 : KIRKLEY BUSINESS AND TOURISM PROJECT GROUP

The report of the Director of Community Services advised that the Kirkley Business and Tourism Project Group (KBTPG) was formed to create a public-private partnership within Kirkley as part of the Kirkley Development Project.

The Project was to end in June 2001, but it was important that the events and activities did not end with the Project, and the Group had prepared a Strategy describing their vision for Kirkley. The Group was keen that the Council agreed the Strategy in principle. The Strategy did not require funding from the Council.

RESOLVED

That the Kirkley Business and Tourism Project Group Strategy be supported as a vision for Kirkley, and that the Group work with members and officers to ensure the outputs and development programme set out in the Strategy were achieved.
