V27-1228 : HOUSEHOLD WASTE SITES - INTRODUCTION OF HEIGHT BARRIERS
The report of the Director of Community Services informed members of Suffolk County Council's intention to introduce height barriers at all Household Waste Sites in an attempt to prevent commercial waste entering the sites. There was concern that height barriers may prevent larger private vehicles from entering the site. The County Council had also recently announced an intention to curtail the opening hours of the sites.
RESOLVED
1. That the Council express its concerns on the introduction of height barriers and the shortening of opening hours at the Household Waste sites in Waveney, particularly given the infrastructure problems at Wilde Street.
2. That the Council continue to support Anti-Waste in their objective of establishing a Household Waste site at the Materials Reclamation Facility.
