V27-1121 : DESIGN AND INNOVATION - COUNSELLING INITIATIVE

The Chairman welcomed Mr Alan Eklid, Design and Innovation Counsellor of Business Link, to the Sub-Committee. Mr Eklid gave a short presentation on the Design and Innovation Counselling Initiative, which was a new local scheme jointly devised by the Council and Business Link, which would support small businesses and lone inventors by assisting access to an expert design Counsellor. There followed a short question and answer session.

The report of the Chief Executive gave further details of the Initiative and proposed the contribution of £3,000 for a trial period.

RECOMMENDED

That the Design and Innovation Counselling Initiative run by Business Link be part funded by the Council at a cost of £3,000 per annum on a one year trial basis, to be met from within existing budgets.
