V27-1089 : W12761/2 - 6 CHEDISTON STREET, HALESWORTH
Application for change of use from retail to hot food takeaway.
The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control outlined an application to provide a hot food takeaway on the ground floor of the above currently empty shop. No physical alterations would be necessary to the front of the shop, and ventilation ducts would be placed in the side gable end. Nine objections had been received from neighbours on various grounds including highway safety, disturbance, rubbish and there already being sufficient food outlets in the area.
The shop formed part of a terrace of properties in residential use, and there was a flat above the shop. Chediston Street at this point was also very narrow, and the Highway Authority recommended refusal. The Director felt the noise and activity generated in the evenings would have an adverse impact on the locality, and recommended refusal. RESOLVED
That planning permission be refused to application W12761/2.
