V27-1084 : W12341/7 - LAND AT BECCLES AIRFIELD, NORTH COVE

Application for siting of two portacabins for use as toilet block and club house, and use of agricultural building for aircraft parking/ancillary retail.

The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control advised that a number of unsightly temporary structures had been installed on the above site in connection with its use as a flying club, without the benefit of planning permission. The proposals under consideration were submitted in response to pressure from the Director for action to regularise the situation.

There was a long running conflict at the site arising from flying activities taking place in proximity to a public right of way, but the application under consideration did not impinge upon any rights of way in the area. The Director felt the proposal would tidy up the area, so long as the temporary facilities were removed upon completion of the new buildings. He recommended approval subject to this, and receipt of satisfactory details on disposal of foul water and protection of plants and wildlife.

RESOLVED

That planning permission be granted to application W12341/7, subject to satisfactory details on disposal of foul and surface water, protection of plants and wildlife and removal of existing temporary facilities on completion of the new buildings.
