Outline application to construct a bungalow.

The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control advised that a site visit had recently taken place at the above location, at which it was proposed to build a second bungalow.

One letter of objection had been received concerning disturbance and loss of view, but the Director felt that a single storey dwelling could be accommodated on the plot without any significant impact on immediate neighbours, especially as the site was well screened. The access was satisfactory, although the new driveway within the site shown between the existing hedge and the Blue Atlantic Cedar was not achievable. The driveway would need to be moved nearer the existing bungalow with additional planting to avoid loss of amenity.

The Director recommended approval, subject to a single storey dwelling only, protection of the Blue Atlantic Cedar, retention of existing hedges and agreeing the exact location of the new driveway and dwelling.

RESOLVED

That planning permission be granted to application W17413 for a single storey dwelling only, subject to protection of the Blue Atlantic Cedar, retention of existing hedges and agreement of exact location of the new driveway and dwelling.
