Application for a loft conversion to form room within loft space.

The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control outlined an attic conversion to provide a large dormer window onto the rear roof slope. Also included was the provision of a set of patio doors leading onto a roof balcony.

The Director considered the dormer window to be well designed, but the provision of a balcony at a high level would create a loss of privacy to neighbouring properties. He therefore recommended refusal as submitted.

RESOLVED

That the Director of Planning and Building Control be given delegated authority to grant planning permission to application W17429 subject to the deletion of the balcony, otherwise to issue refusal.
