V27-1013 : TENANTS GARDEN COMPETITION

The report of the Director of Housing and Environmental Services reminded members that a Garden Competition for tenants had been held since 1998. Tenants were enthusiastic, and from a management point of view it helped improve the overall appearance of estates.

Last year's competition was sponsored by Early Dawn Nurseries and Garden Centre, who had indicated they would consider sponsorship again in 2000. Members asked that the Town and Parish Councils be made more aware of the competition, and liaison take place with `Lowestoft in Bloom' and its district equivalent.

RESOLVED

That a Garden Competition be held for tenants in 2000, and Early Dawn Nurseries and Garden Centre, Carlton Colville invited to sponsor.
