V27-1009 : ST PETERS COURT, LOWESTOFT

The report of the Director of Housing and Environmental Services referred to the joint brief for the proposed transfer of St Peters Court to a Registered Social Landlord agreed with the tenants steering group.

The steering group had requested a clause that would allow the existing tenants of St Peters Court to be a priority case for transfer back to Council accommodation for a period of twelve months following transfer of the block to a housing association.

This joint brief had been sent to interested members of the Waveney Housing Association Consortium, with proposals due for return by 25 February 2000.

Councillor Shepherd passed a list of ten questions to the Chairman related to the transfer issue, which he requested answering at the next meeting of the Sub-Committee.

RESOLVED

That, subject to the availability of suitable property, for a period of no more than 12 months after the date of transfer, all tenants of St Peters Court transferred to the Registered Social Landlord should have an application to transfer back to another similar Waveney District Council property treated as a high priority, special case; suitable property shall mean only flats and elderly persons accommodation.
