V26-995 : THE LOCAL HEALTH PARTNERSHIPS NHS TRUST

The report of the Director of Housing and Environmental Services informed members that the proposal to merge the Allington, East Suffolk Local Health Services and Mid Anglia Community Health NHS Trusts into the Local Health Partnerships NHS Trust was the subject of consultation ending on 3 December 1998.

Due to the proposal's healthcare significance, officers and members had been liaising with the Community Health Council and Lowestoft Primary Care Group on a co-ordinated response. Although it had not been possible to finalise the response in time to be reported to Committee as the work was ongoing, the deadline would be met.

RESOLVED

That the Director of Housing and Environmental Services, in consultation with the Chairman and/or the Vice-Chairman, be authorised to finalise and endorse this Council's response to the merger proposal to create the Local Health Partnerships NHS Trust.
