V26-993 : VALUE FOR MONEY INDICATORS - HOUSING MANAGEMENT
The report of the Director of Housing and Environmental Services explained that the Audit Commission was developing a more consistent national approach to following up the value for money studies and audits it carried out each year.
PricewaterhouseCoopers, the Council's External Auditors, had recently provided the latest statistics, broken down in three fields; Nearest Neighbour Comparators, English District Authority Comparators, and Base and Current Year Comparators.
The Director displayed a series of charts at the meeting showing the figures. Generally, Waveney compared favourably with both Nearest Neighbour and English District Authority Comparators. There had been only minor changes in the comparative performance between the base year 1992 and the existing year 1998.

That the report on Housing Management Value for Money Indicators be received.
