V26-929 : MARIE JEMIMA PIPE CHARITY

The report of the Director of Central Services considered the distribution of grants from the Marie Jemima Pipe Charity to assist Lowestoft Fishermen and their families who were in need. The income was estimated at £1,700 for 1998/99 plus £583 which was previously undistributed.

In past years the Trustees had been assisted in identifying suitable beneficiaries by the Royal National Mission for Deep Sea Fishermen, and they had made recommendations for 1998/99.

RESOLVED

1. That a grant of £500 be made to the Royal National Mission for Deep Sea Fishermen's Christmas Cheer Fund, to be met from the Marie Jemima Pipe Charity.

2. That £1,100 in 11 individual grants of £100 be made to single people or families as nominated by the Mission, to be met from the Marie Jemima Pipe Charity.
