V26-859 : EAST STREET BAR, SOUTHWOLD - UNAUTHORISED ILLUMINATED SIGN
The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control concerned an internally illuminated product sign which had been erected on the above property, which stood within the Conservation Area, without advertising consent. The sign when illuminated had been the subject of a number of objections on the grounds that it was not acceptable in the Conservation Area.
The Director of Planning and Building Control had requested that the sign be removed, or at the very least that the bulb be removed from within the sign to ensure it was not illuminated. The proprietor had removed the bulb on various occasions but had reinstalled it, stating that it helped to attract considerable trade.
RESOLVED
That the Chief Executive be authorised to take prosecution action against the unauthorised illuminated sign at East Street Bar, Southwold.
