Application for new vehicular access.

The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control advised that the above was a retrospective application. The applicants had constructed a vehicular access leading to a paved front garden which was the subject of a separate application which had not yet completed its period of consultation. There was no objection to the access itself, but the paved front garden was the subject of objections from the Town Council and neighbours. The Director recommended approval to the access subject to County Highways' condition of a dropped kerb, and delegated authority to approve the second application subject to some form of planting to screen car headlights from the properties.

RESOLVED

1. That planning permission be granted to application W17125, subject to the provision of a dropped kerb.

2. That the Director of Planning and Building Control be given delegated authority to grant planning permission to the application for a paved front garden at 61 Upper Olland Street, subject to visual improvement of the area through planting.
