Application for first floor extension.

The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control outlined a proposal for a first floor bedroom extension to a chalet style property. A previous application for a similar extension had been refused as the proposed gable ended roof extension would have created an undesirable terracing effect. This would have been out of character with adjacent identical designed chalets.

The applicant had overcome this objection by forming a hipped roof as opposed to a gable end design. This had a less dominant effect on the neighbouring chalet and went some way to retaining the original style of the property. The Director recommended approval.

RESOLVED

That planning permission be granted to application W17076/1.
