Application for replacement fencing.

The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control outlined a proposal to partially remove the existing timber fencing to the Notley Road boundary of the above school site. At present the timber fence had the effect of shielding intruders into the school from the outside, and the proposed replacement fencing would overcome this security problem. However, having seen the type of security fencing proposed for the site, the change of fencing would certainly affect and arguably harm the outlook from the homes in Notley Road. The Director therefore recommended that the County Council be requested to investigate a more appropriate type of fencing.

RESOLVED

That Suffolk County Council be informed that this Council raises an objection to the grant of planning permission to application W8102/26 due to the un attractive design of the proposed new fencing.
