V26-811 : W3008/18 - LAND ADJACENT TO 40/50 ALDWYCK WAY, LOWESTOFT

Outline application for the construction of one bungalow.

The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control concerned the above proposal to construct a bungalow on what was currently a children's play area adjacent to an existing housing association development. The site was a designated play area within this estate development. The applicant argued that the play area was unnecessary, however there were signs that it was in regular use. Policy OS2 made it clear that play areas should not be developed unless equivalent alternative provision was made. This was not proposed in this case, and as such the development of this land could not be justified. The Director recommended refusal.

RESOLVED

That planning permission be refused to application W3008/18.
