Application for two storey side extension.

The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control considered the above proposal to erect a two storey side extension providing a new dining room and first floor bedroom, extending right up to the boundary. The existing garage would be converted to a study and garden store.

The neighbour had objected due to loss of light to the side window of a conservatory. This would, however, be minimal and was not sufficient to constitute a reason for refusal. The neighbour also objected to loss of privacy. Although a proposed first floor window would look over the neighbouring garden, the same could be said for all existing first floor windows and an extra window would not be significantly more intrusive. The Director recommended approval.

RESOLVED

That planning permission be granted to application W17139.
