V26-81 : RESIDENTS' CAR PARKING - BRIDGE ROAD, LOWESTOFT

The report of the Director of Central Services reminded members that at minute V25-401 a residents' parking concession was introduced for various properties in Bridge Road, Lowestoft, to use the Council's off-street car parks during the summer season, when charges applied.

The annual £80 fee was based on the residents' concession for the Wharton Street car park in Bungay. However, that car park was subject to charges all year round and the concession of greater value.

Following correspondence from Bridge Road residents it was agreed to reduce the fee to £50 to reflect the shorter period of the concession. The decision had to be made in time for 1 April 1998 when the car park charges came into force.

RESOLVED

1. That the action taken by the Director of Central Services, in consultation with the Chairman, to reduce the residents' car parking concession charge at Bridge Road, Lowestoft to £50 per annum be confirmed.

2. That the Chief Executive be authorised to advertise the amendment to the Off Street Parking Order, and if no objections are received, to confirm the Order.
