Application for continuation of existing use as shop premises and five self-contained flats.

The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control concerned the above application which had been deferred for a site visit at the last meeting. The application was part of an ongoing programme of upgrading of properties in the ownership of the applicants. With the application site, the upgrading had so far resulted in a reduction of the number of bedsits in their properties from 22 to 11, with each becoming self-contained. The application was to regularise the use of 145 London Road South as shop premises and five self-contained flats.

Nine objections had been received concerned with flat saturation levels and lack of car parking space. However, the address complied with Policy and the recommendation of the Director was for delegated authority to approve subject to no adverse comments being received from the Department of Environment and Transport.

RESOLVED

That the Director of Planning and Building Control be given delegated authority to grant planning permission to application W17109, subject to no adverse comments being received from the Department of Environment and Transport.
